Beginning
At the start, you might wonder why your character looks like a girl. It is a default character for new players at the moment. As this is currently still in Alpha phase, there could be a character customization GUI that would be added. To customise your character as of now, you can find the NPC Barber in towns. (I am making a map to mark the location).
Strategy
Starting off, after leaving the town, you are out for an adventure! The first monster you would want to hunt is Spores. They are the easiest monster in game to hunt. The objective here is to hunt monsters that you are comfortable to hunt with your current weapon. Hunting monsters will drop a loot box which can contain an armor or a weapon. When you feel like you are overpowering the monsters, this is the time when you move on to a tougher monster. This game emphasize greatly on adventuring and exploration which is why there is no map provided.
If you see another adventurer coming to assist you in the hunt, don't be afraid to hunt together! Drops are given individually, therefore you do not have to fear your loots being stolen. However loot boxes do disappear after awhile if it is not taken.

As you explore and hunt monsters, the equipment drops will eventually equip you well enough to fight your first boss.
Boss
Boss entrances are hidden throughout the map. In almost every new area you will find a place like the picture above. There is no minimum party size to enter boss fights but it is definitely recommended to bring one or two adventurers along to ensure a higher rate of completion.

Boss fights are unique in this game. Bosses throw skills at you that can do a massive amount of damage and can sometimes kill you instantly. However some skills can be dodged to avoid the damage. In order to learn how to dodge this skills, it might take you a few deaths but it will all be worth it. Do not fret as you do not lose anything when you die.

Boss guarantees a loot box drop when defeated only if you dealt enough damage to it. If you are lucky enough, you may get an additional loot box that contains a "Rare potion". This potion when consumed, increases a certain stat by +1 permanently. You can view your stats by pressing 'G'.
